Houston Raiders Baseball will hold try-outs,
for their 2009 - 14U team. Try-outs will be held Sunday Nov. 23, 1:00 PM at BBUSA Field

Players should......
* Arrive 30 minutes early to register and
warm up.
* Wear appropriate baseball gear including long
pants, cleats and a baseball cap.

Congratulations to all Raiders teams that paticipated in the St. Mary's University
July 4th Tournament. Raiders 18U Red (6-0) and Raiders 18U Black (4-1) met each other in the 18U Finals.
Raiders 16U Black went 5-1 for the weekend, their only loss in the 16U Finals. Hope everyone had a good time.

Congratulations to Steven Hill (Lanham Creek / Eastfield College/ Stephen F. Austin) on his recent call up to the
Double A Springfield Cardinals, affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
2007 Season Highlights:
Went 9-for-12 (.750) with his first career
homer, three doubles, six RBIs and four runs scored in his first three pro games...hit safely in eight of 10 games...promoted
to Class A Quad Cities on June 30 and hit .303 with 11 home runs, 15 doubles, 44 RBIs and 38 runs scored in 62 games...batted
.455 (15-for-33) with nine runs scored during an eight-game hitting streak from July 11-19, including six consecutive multi-hit
efforts from July 12-18...went 14-for-26 (.539) with three homers and 17 RBIs during five straight multi-hit games from July
23-28, including a career-best two homers and five RBIs on July 27 against Burlington and a career-high four-hits on July
28 against Burlington...batted .355 with seven home runs, 28 RBIs and 23 runs scored in July...hit .483 (29-for-60) with four

Ben Schoenberg:

was the lone Eagle on the CACC first-team, while senior DH Eric Rovinetti (Watertown, Conn./Southern Connecticut
State Univ.) and junior LHP Ben Schoenberg
(Sugarland, Texas/Cedar Creek C.C.) each earned CACC second-team kudos.
Ben Schoenberg is 7-1 on the season with 3.49 ERA. He tied the school-record
for wins, and is currently tied with Caldwell's Robert Casal, for the most wins in the conference. The Texan has
struck out 37, walked 13 and allowed 26 earned runs in 67.0 innings of work. Against Nyack on April 8, he allowed just one
runs on three hits, while striking out a season-high 10 batters.
Ben was definitely one of the best pitchers in the conference this year," McNamara said. "We always
knew what we were going to get when he went out there."

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.-Junior right fielder Donnie Dlobola (Levittown, N.Y./Nassau C.C.) went 4-for-6 with three runs
batted in, and junior LHP Ben Schoenberg (Sugarland, Texas/Cedar Valley C.C.) won his first game
of the season, as the Post University baseball team defeated Shepherd University 11-6, Sunday afternoon
at Fairfax Field. Schoenberg picked up his first career victory for the Eagles, allowing one run
on seven hits and two walks in seven innings.

the Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 5A all-state baseball team.
Collier, a junior, went 11-1 in leading Cy-Fair H.S. to the

As you all know we have
dealt with an exorbitant amount of rain this summer causing the postponement and cancellation of more than a few tournaments. We also understand that many of our players participate with their high-school leagues
who are also trying to make up games due to the inclimate weather. It is for
these reasons that we have elected to postpone the Wood Bat Classic Tournament in San Antonio until the weekend of August
3 – 5. We feel this alteration will give everyone the best chance of attending
this event. Hotel information will remain the same and any reservations already
made will automatically be transferred. Thank you in advance for your cooperation
in this matter and we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Eastfield College Baseball Coaching Staff will be on hand to evaluate players' skills in the

running, throwing, hitting, pitching, and defensive play.
Pitchers and Catchers are asked to be
ready for a 9:00 a.m. start, and all position players are asked to be ready for a 1:00 p.m. start.
